Voice of Charity 1701 AM is a Christianity-based radio station that operates in Sydney, NSW. Its on-air content consists of religious and Christianity preaching and cultural promotions. Lebanese Maronite Missionaries operate the functioning of this station. FM broadcasts its content in Arabic and English. It promotes the Eastern Churches. The listeners belong to Australia and New Zealand. Its major aim is to spread God’s word to listeners of all age types, i.e., youth, families, growing children, and other people belonging to this station’s coverage area.
About Voice of Charity 1701 AM
Voice of Charity started broadcasting on 10th November 1997. On 8th April 1999, it got registered as a company. It applied for a community broadcasting license on 20th March 2000. Australian Broadcasting Authority granted the license on 20th March 2000 to present the interests of the Christian community. It started broadcasting for the whole day from 25th December 2003. In 2009, it began operating at 1701 AM and began catering to the largest audience of 20,000 at a time.
On 22nd February 2011, it reserved its position on the Register of Cultural Organization’s list. Initially, the station broadcasted one hour a day and five days a week from 2NBC FM. Gradually, it started broadcasting from SWR FM six days a week. However, in December 2000, it stopped broadcasting due to various hurdles. The operational frequency is 1701 AM.
